The World Series of Beer Pong
Yes, it is a real tournament. The World Series of Beer Pong is a five-day event taking place in Las Vegas, NV, from January 1st through the 5th. Registration is either $650 for single occupancy or $500 for double occupancy - the package includes your entry into the tournament as well as as lodging at the South Point Hotel. Student union holds weekly beer pong competitions
Only in Canada could something like this occur, and it saddens me that no university in the U.S. (especially my own) would let this happen. The student union at Memorial University of Newfoundland is embracing the sport of beer pong - so much, in fact, that they hold weekly tournaments where the winners receive $100. Not only that, but the student body hopes to send an able team to Las Vegas for the World Series of Beer Pong. Click the link below to read more.
